Morning Preparations
The day starts early at 6:00 AM when I arrive at our Lansing headquarters. After checking my service schedule and loading up the van with essential parts and tools, I grab my morning coffee and review the day’s heating system maintenance appointments.
First Call: Emergency Furnace Service
My first stop is in Schererville, where a family woke up to a cold house. These emergency calls are priority, especially during the harsh Indiana winters. After diagnosing the issue – a faulty ignitor – I’m able to quickly replace the part and restore heat to their home.
Mid-Morning: Routine Maintenance
The next few appointments take me through Munster and Dyer, where I perform preventative maintenance on heating systems:
– Checking and replacing air filters
– Inspecting heat exchangers
– Testing safety controls
– Cleaning burners
– Checking carbon monoxide levels
Afternoon: New Installation
After lunch, I head to St. John for a complete furnace installation. This is typically a team effort, requiring precise measurements and careful attention to local building codes. These installations are particularly satisfying, knowing we’re providing reliable warmth for years to come.
End of Day
Before heading back to base in Griffith, I complete my service documentation and prepare for tomorrow. Every day brings different challenges, but there’s nothing more rewarding than ensuring our community stays warm and comfortable during the cold season.
It’s more than just fixing furnaces – it’s about building relationships with our neighbors and maintaining their trust in our service. After all, keeping homes warm is a responsibility we take seriously at Lansing Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc.
